Beef Shawarma
Marinated beef cooked on a vertical spit or in a pan, seasoned with warm spices and traditionally served in pita or flatbread. Meat is sliced thin and assembled with vegetables and sauce.
Ingredients
Method
In a large bowl, whisk together shawarma spice blend, olive oil, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
Add sliced beef and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 12 hours in the refrigerator.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
Working in batches if needed, cook marinated beef 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preference. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely.
Warm pita bread in the skillet for 30 seconds per side, or wrap in foil and warm in the oven.
Fill each pita with cooked beef, sliced onion, tomato, cucumber, and chopped parsley.
Drizzle tahini-lemon sauce over the filling and serve immediately.
