Cuban Sandwich Press
A pressed sandwich with ham, pork, cheese, and pickles on Cuban bread, served warm. The bread crisps on the outside while the filling becomes soft and melded inside.
Ingredients
Method
Slice the Cuban bread in half lengthwise. If the loaf is longer than your press, cut it in half to make two sandwiches.
Spread yellow mustard on the bottom half of the bread. Layer ham, roast pork, cheese, and pickle slices in that order.
Place the top half of bread on the filling. Lightly butter the outside of both halves of bread.
Heat a panini press or griddle over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the sandwich on the press.
Press firmly for 3 to 4 minutes, until the bread is golden-brown and crispy on the outside. Flip and press the other side for another 3 to 4 minutes until evenly crisped.
Remove from the press and let cool for 1 minute. Slice diagonally if desired and serve warm.
