Fried Oysters
Battered and deep-fried oysters with a crispy golden exterior and tender briny interior. Served hot with a choice of dipping sauce and fresh citrus.
Ingredients
Method
Pat oysters thoroughly dry with paper towels.
Combine flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a shallow bowl.
Heat oil to 350°F in a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet; use a thermometer to monitor temperature.
Working in batches to avoid crowding, dredge oysters in the flour mixture, shake off excess, and carefully place into hot oil.
Fry for 2–3 minutes until golden brown, turning once halfway through cooking.
Remove fried oysters with a slotted spoon and transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
Serve hot immediately with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce or dipping sauce of choice.
