Hot Dogs and Baked Beans
Cooked sausages served alongside slow-cooked beans in a tomato-based sauce. This one-pot dish combines protein and legumes with caramelized onions and warm spices.

Method
Dice the onion into 1/4-inch pieces. Mince the garlic. If using whole sausage links, leave intact; if using patties, keep whole.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, turning once, about 8–10 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and slice into 1-inch chunks.
In the same skillet (or a medium saucepan), warm 1 tbsp oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Add tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, and ketchup. Stir well to combine. Pour in water or broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
Add drained beans, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir. Return sausage chunks to the pan.
Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens slightly and flavors meld. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Ladle into bowls or serving plates. Garnish with chopped green onion if desired. Serve warm.
