Korean Beef Lettuce Wrap
Seasoned ground beef cooked with ginger, soy sauce, and sesame served in crisp lettuce leaves. Assembled fresh with pickled vegetables and herbs for textural contrast.
Ingredients
Method
Mince garlic and ginger. Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
Wash and gently separate lettuce leaves; pat dry and place on a serving plate. Dice cucumber, slice green onion, and pick cilantro leaves into small bowls.
Heat 1 tbsp sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, 5–7 minutes.
Add minced garlic and ginger; stir constantly for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour the soy mixture over the beef and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Transfer the cooked beef to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
To eat, place a spoonful of beef in a lettuce leaf, top with cucumber, green onion, and cilantro, then roll or fold and eat by hand.
