Picadillo Lettuce Wraps
Seasoned ground meat filling with tomato, olives, and capers served in crisp lettuce leaves. Assembled fresh and eaten as handheld wraps with optional sauce and toppings.
Ingredients
Method
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add ground meat and cook, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 8–10 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
Stir in cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 30 seconds to bloom the spices.
Add canned tomatoes, green olives, and capers. Stir well and simmer over medium heat for 5–8 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and flavors meld. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Arrange lettuce leaves on a serving platter. Spoon warm filling into each leaf.
Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
