Tater Tot Hotdish
A casserole built on crispy tater tots, a protein-forward filling, and melted cheese. Baked until bubbly and golden, then topped with fresh garnish.
Ingredients
Method
Preheat oven to 375°F. Spread frozen tater tots in an even layer across the bottom of a 9x13 baking pan.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground protein with diced onion and minced garlic until no pink remains, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup cheddar cheese, sour cream, and thawed peas. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Simmer for 2 minutes to combine.
Pour the filling mixture evenly over the tater tots. Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cup cheddar cheese on top.
Bake uncovered at 375°F for 35–40 minutes until the casserole is bubbly around the edges and the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
Remove from oven and let rest for 3 minutes. Garnish with sliced green onion and serve hot.
