Bruschetta
Crispy toasted bread topped with swappable fresh or cooked toppings, a classic Italian appetizer that's endlessly customizable. Perfect as a starter or light snack.
Ingredients
Method
Slice the baguette on a slight diagonal into ½-inch pieces. Pat dry with paper towels if any moisture is present.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Brush both sides of bread lightly with olive oil. Bake for 5–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
While still warm, rub each slice with the cut garlic clove on one side.
In a small bowl, combine diced tomato, fresh basil, half of the parmesan, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Toss gently.
Spoon the topping onto the garlic-rubbed side of each toast slice, dividing evenly.
Top with remaining parmesan and a light pepper grind. Serve immediately while bread is still warm and crispy.
