Cajun Shrimp Pasta
Seared shrimp tossed with pasta in a spiced creole-style sauce. Hot, garlicky, and finished with fresh herbs and aromatics.
Ingredients
Method
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Dice the onion, bell pepper, and celery; mince the garlic; slice the green onion for garnish.
Pat the shrimp dry and season with 1 tsp of the cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Add pasta to the boiling water and cook until al dente; drain and set aside.
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer and sear 2–3 minutes per side until opaque; transfer to a plate.
Reduce heat to medium, add 1 tbsp olive oil to the same skillet, and sauté the onion, bell pepper, and celery until softened, about 4 minutes.
Stir in the garlic and remaining 1 tsp cajun seasoning, paprika, and cayenne; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the vegetable broth and heavy cream (if using); simmer for 3 minutes to meld flavors.
Return the shrimp to the skillet, add the cooked pasta, and toss gently to coat. Cook for 1–2 minutes to warm through.
Squeeze in the lemon juice, taste, and adjust salt and pepper. Divide into bowls and garnish with green onion and parmesan cheese.
