Crispy Tofu Bowl
A customizable bowl built on crispy fried tofu with swappable grains, vegetables, and sauces. Assemble hot tofu with cold or warm components for textural contrast.
Ingredients
Method
Cut pressed tofu into 3/4-inch cubes and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Place flour in a shallow bowl and season with salt. Toss tofu cubes in flour to coat lightly, shaking off excess.
Heat neutral oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Working in batches, add tofu cubes without crowding and fry 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy on all edges. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
Divide warm or room-temperature grain between two serving bowls.
Arrange crispy tofu, raw or pickled vegetable components, and fresh vegetables in sections around the grain.
Drizzle dressing or sauce over the bowl, scatter fresh herbs and toasted seeds, and serve immediately.
