Honey Walnut Shrimp
Crispy shrimp coated in a sweet honey glaze and topped with toasted walnuts. Served warm with a glossy sauce that clings to each piece.
Ingredients
Method
Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Pour flour into a shallow dish. Season flour with salt and set aside.
Toast walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently, until fragrant (about 4 minutes). Transfer to a plate and set aside.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, rice vinegar, orange juice, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
Heat vegetable oil to 350°F in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat (about 2–3 minutes). Working in batches to avoid crowding, coat shrimp in flour and carefully lower into hot oil.
Fry shrimp for 2–3 minutes, stirring gently, until the coating is golden and the shrimp float. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate. Return oil to temperature between batches.
Return fried shrimp to the wok or skillet over medium heat. Add the honey-ginger glaze and toss to coat evenly, about 1 minute.
Transfer glazed shrimp to a serving platter. Top with toasted walnuts, sliced green onion, and sesame seeds. Serve warm.
