Method
Mince garlic and ginger. Chop your chosen vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Cook your rice or grain base if not already prepared.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add minced garlic and ginger to the beef; stir and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tbsp sesame oil. Stir to combine and simmer for 1–2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.
In the same skillet or a separate pan, quickly sauté your chosen vegetables over medium-high heat until just tender-crisp, about 3–5 minutes depending on the vegetable. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Divide cooked rice between bowls. Top each with seasoned beef, sautéed vegetables, and optional fried egg.
Drizzle with additional sesame oil and any optional sauce (gochujang glaze, Korean BBQ sauce, or teriyaki). Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onion. Serve immediately.
