Mississippi Mud Pie
A rich chocolate dessert pie with a dense, fudgy filling and crispy crust. Baked until set and typically served chilled or warm with whipped topping.
Ingredients
Method
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom lightly with a fork.
Melt butter and chocolate together in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
Remove from heat and whisk in cocoa powder until fully incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together brown sugar and flour, then add eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
Combine the egg mixture with the chocolate mixture, stirring until well blended.
Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is set but the interior still jiggles slightly when the pan is gently shaken.
Cool the pie on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 2 hours or until fully chilled.
Serve slices with whipped cream or your choice of topping.
