Bacon Cheeseburger
A grilled patty of ground beef topped with melted cheese, bacon, and condiments served on a soft bun. Assembled warm with toasted bread and fresh toppings.
Ingredients
Method
Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes; drain on paper towels and break into pieces.
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently form each into a patty about 0.75 inches thick; make a shallow depression in the center with your thumb. Season both sides with salt and black pepper just before cooking.
Heat grill or skillet to medium-high heat (about 375°F). Place patties on the hot surface and cook 3–4 minutes without pressing, until a brown crust forms.
Flip patties and cook 2–3 minutes more. When the internal temperature reaches 160°F on a meat thermometer, place one cheese slice on each patty.
Cover with a lid or tent with foil for 1 minute to melt the cheese. Transfer to a plate.
Toast the buns lightly on the grill or in a dry skillet, about 1 minute per side.
Spread ketchup on the bottom bun and mustard on the top bun. Layer lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the bottom bun.
Place the patty with melted cheese on top of the vegetables, then add 2 bacon pieces per burger.
Crown with the top bun and serve warm.
