Fried Bologna Sandwich
A sandwich of fried deli meat between bread with condiments and toppings. Crispy exterior bologna develops a caramelized crust when pan-fried.
Ingredients
Method
Score the bologna slices with shallow cuts in a crosshatch pattern to prevent them from curling during frying. Lightly toast bread slices if desired.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Add bologna slices to the hot pan and fry for 1–2 minutes per side until the edges brown and the surface becomes crispy; remove and drain on a plate.
Spread mayonnaise on one bread slice and ketchup on the other.
Layer fried bologna, cheese (if using), onion, and lettuce between the bread slices.
Cut sandwich diagonally if desired and serve immediately while bologna is still warm.
