Customizable Grain Bowl
Build your own grain bowl with a choice of base grain, protein, roasted vegetables, and dressing. Mix and match ingredients to create endless flavor combinations.
Ingredients
Method
Cook 1 cup dry grain according to package directions (typically 15–45 minutes depending on grain type). Drain, fluff, and set aside.
Preheat oven to 425°F. Chop roasted vegetables into bite-sized pieces and toss with 2 tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper on a sheet pan.
Roast for 20–25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until edges are caramelized and tender. Remove from oven and cool slightly.
If using plant-based protein (beans, lentils, tofu, tempeh): warm gently in a pan. If using meat or fish: cook via stovetop, oven, or grill to doneness, then cool and cut into bite-sized pieces.
In a bowl or plate, arrange grain as the base, then distribute roasted vegetables, protein, and fresh vegetables around it.
Drizzle dressing over the bowl. Top with seeds/nuts and fresh herbs if using. Serve immediately and toss gently before eating.
