Baked chicken breast layered with pepperoni, cheese, and tomato sauce. Assembled in a baking dish and finished until the cheese melts and the edges brown.
Ingredients
Method
Preheat oven to 400°F. Pat chicken breasts dry and pound to uniform 0.5-inch thickness. Mince garlic and combine with oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Oil a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom.
Arrange chicken breasts in a single layer over the sauce. Season with the garlic-oregano mixture.
Top each breast with remaining marinara sauce, then layer pepperoni slices over the top.
Combine mozzarella and parmesan in a bowl, then sprinkle evenly over the pepperoni.
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through (165°F internal temperature) and the cheese is golden and bubbling.
Remove from oven and let rest 3 minutes before serving.
