Pigs in a Blanket
Seasoned sausage or meat wrapped in pastry dough and baked until golden. The filling and wrapper swap to create regional and dietary variations.
Ingredients
Method
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Pat the sausage links dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over each sausage link.
Cut each flour tortilla in half lengthwise to create 2 strips per tortilla.
Spread about 1/2 tsp of yellow mustard on the inside of each tortilla strip.
Place a sausage link at one end of a tortilla strip and roll tightly, wrapping the pastry around the sausage. Place seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining sausages and tortillas.
Brush the tops and sides of each roll with olive oil.
Bake for 18–22 minutes until the wrapper is golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes. Serve warm with ketchup or honey mustard for dipping.
