Breakfast Casserole

Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter or oil a 9x13 inch baking dish lightly.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Distribute bread cubes evenly in the prepared baking dish. Scatter cooked protein, cheese, and vegetables over the bread.
Pour egg mixture evenly over the bread and ingredients, pressing gently so bread absorbs the liquid. Dot the top with small knobs of butter.
Bake for 40–50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft (a knife inserted near the center should come out mostly clean).
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Cut into squares and serve warm, optionally topped with fresh green onion, parsley, or hot sauce.
