Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Add egg and vanilla extract, beating until fully combined.
Fold the dry ingredient mixture into the butter mixture until just combined.

Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
