Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, whisk together softened butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
Transfer the dough to a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, pressing gently to distribute evenly.
Bake for 18–22 minutes, until the edges are set and light golden but the center still appears slightly underbaked.
Cool for 5 minutes in the skillet, then slice and serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
